Discuss Wiretapping, Facebook & Google boss Go up to Obama


Washington - Several U.S. technology company boss went to President Barack Obama . These include Facebook CEO , Mark Zuckerberg , Google chairman Eric Schmidt , and Reed Hastings , CEO of Netflix , Inc. .

The technology company officials discussing the government's electronic wiretapping U.S. . Conversations in the White House lasted for about 2 hours .


"The president reaffirmed his government 's commitment to take the steps that can give people greater confidence that their rights are protected while still maintaining the essential tools to maintain the security of us all , " the White House said in a statement .


Tapping is done to U.S. security agencies such as the NSA ( National Security Agency ) revealed by leaked after Edward Snowden , a former CIA employee who has now fled to Russia . Reportedly , the NSA access a variety of server technology giants including Facebook , Google and Microsoft .Facebook founder , Mark Zuckerberg , expressed his disappointment with the wiretapping activity . He also asked the U.S. government to reform the practice of wiretapping conducted so far . In fact earlier , Zuckerberg immediately phoned Obama to protest.


"People around the world have the right to know that their information will remain secure and Facebook encourage the U.S. government to be more transparent about its practices and yag do more to protect civil liberties , " said Zuckerberg , who quoted by Reuters on Monday ( 03/24/2014 ) .
