Jakarta - HTC that during the last 27 months performance hit due to the impact of the hard competition of Apple and Samsung , hopes to return a profit at the end of 2014 by relying on cheap mobile phones targeting the lower middle segment .
According to Chief Financial Officer of HTC Chialin Chang , cell phones to lower-medium segment with affordable prices will help the company to regain market share lost during the last two years .
" There is a product for the middle segment would be good for profit margins . We want to make sure the products shipped have competitive value , " Chang said as quoted by Reuters on Tuesday ( 03/11/2014 ) .
To demolish this segment , the HTC product portfolio introduces its latest mid-range , including 700 dual SIM HTC Desire , HTC Desire 601 , and HTC Desire 500 across Europe , Asia , and the Middle East .
HTC has been getting pressure in China because of the cheap device . Two years ago every 10 smartphones sold , one of which is HTC . Now HTC's market share is only 2 % remaining .
HTC has recently entered a strategic partnership with China Mobile and HTC Max melancurkan TDD - LTE as the first in the country and announced a patent deal with Nokia
For the period January to March this year , HTC hopes to book around 34-36 billion NTD revenue of NTD 42.8 billion in the period 2013. In the fourth quarter of last year , revenue fell NTD 42.9 billion compared to the same period of 2012 which reached NTD 60 billion .
HTC also recorded just posted a fourth quarter 2013 net income amounted to NTD 310 million and earnings per share of NTD 0.38 . HTC hopes to Profit in Year of the Horse
