Taiwan Seeks Tablet Manufacturing Plant in Indonesia
Jakarta - Indonesia through the Chamber of Commerce Industry ( Kadin ) is exploring the possibility of bringing Chunghwa , a Taiwanese manufacturing company , to build a tablet computer manufacturer in the country .
" We are exploring cooperation with Chunghwa Taiwan manufacturing companies owned SOEs , " said Vice Chairman of the IT , Telecommunications , Broadcasting , and Didi Suwondo Kadin Indonesia Research and Technology , in IndoTelko Forum , Balai Kartini , Jakarta , Wednesday ( 03/19/2014 ) .
According to Didi , cooperation is part of a government plan and private companies who are members of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce to help support education in Indonesia .
" The plan , tablet computers will be supplied to students from elementary to high school . Fulfillment computer equipment in line with the spirit of improving the quality of national education , " he said .
Didi explained , to realize such cooperation , Indonesian Chamber of Commerce will coordinate with relevant stakeholders such as the Ministry of Education , Ministry of Industry , and the Investment Coordinating Board ( BKPM ) .
" In the long term realization of the plant can produce up to 23 million units of the tablet , " he said .
Even so Didi has not said how much investment will be prepared to build a plant tablets in question , because it is still in the exploratory .
He just explained , an Indonesian company that is ready to partner with Chunghwa has prepared the land that would become one of the factory in the industrial area to the east of Jakarta .
On that occasion , Didi said , cooperation with Chunghwa had nothing to do with the realization has not yet realized the Taiwanese manufacturer Foxconn to build factory in Indonesia IT devices .
" Not because Foxconn is not clear so far , but purely because it needs a tablet device , " he said further .
Learning from Foxconn according to Didi , the government prepared to bring important investment partner is associated with incentives such as a strategic industrial location , transportation and port infrastructure , labor , and include duty-free policies , and incentives such as tax holidays .
