It's Selfie Photos First in Space


Jakarta - Selfie aka slingshot themselves in space seems to only be done by the astronauts. So, who was the first astronaut to slingshot himself over there?

The answer most likely is Edwin Eugene Aldrin or usually called Buzz Aldrin. Aldrin was one of the crew who took part in the Apollo 11 mission, the first successful mission to land a man on the moon in 1969.

Aldrin who is now 84 years old, became the second after astronaut Neil Armstrong set foot on the lunar surface. Later it was revealed, Edwin also became the first astronaut in space do selfie.

Coinciding with the celebration of 45 years of human landing on the moon, Aldrin posted on Twitter a picture of himself when on selfie in space. Quoted from Metro, Monday (07/21/2014), the photo was taken in 1966, three years before Aldrin and his colleagues reached the moon.

On Twitter, Aldrin wrote, "Did you know that I take a photo first selfie in space when Gemini 12 mission in 1966?" Chirp Aldrin ended sentence "SELFIE BEST EVER".

In the photos, look Aldrin snapped himself in space with planet earth background while running the Gemini 12 mission in November 1966 that time, Aldrin asked ultaviolet ray photograph of a star with a camera in his space vehicle.
